Learning should feel exciting, creative, and confidence-building—and that’s exactly what I bring to every lesson. After more than 16 years of teaching and tutoring students throughout California, I’m excited to begin a new chapter living and teaching on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii! I now offer in-person tutoring to families on Maui, while continuing to work virtually with students in California and beyond.
For the past 7 years, I’ve dedicated myself to private tutoring for students in grades K–12. I specialize in strengthening reading and writing skills, guiding students through essay writing and editing, building confidence through visual art, and developing personalized learning strategies that bring out the best in each child.
I hold a Master’s in Teaching from Chapman University, along with a multiple-subject teaching credential. Throughout my career, I’ve taught in public, private, and charter school settings and have helped students raise their grades by as much as two letters in a single semester. But what excites me most is seeing a student become more confident, curious, and excited about what they’re capable of.
I also have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent learners, including students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences. Rather than expecting every student to learn the same way, I adapt my teaching to each child’s strengths, needs, interests, and individual learning style.
My approach is hands-on, interactive, and highly personalized. Whether we’re mapping ideas with colorful visuals, tackling grammar through games, creating art, or weaving a student’s favorite interests into reading and writing practice, I make sure learning feels engaging and meaningful. I believe students thrive when they feel genuinely connected—not only to what they’re learning, but also to the person teaching them.
Now based on Maui, I’m excited to become part of the local community and work with families across the island, while staying connected with my students on the mainland through virtual tutoring.
